Becca + I have worked together on a couple of projects now and Mara+I often find ourselves photographing brides who have purchased their gowns from Brides and Beyond. I’m so thankful to be able to bounce business ideas off one another and help each other’s business grow. Local connections are so important + I always know it’s  going to be great fun when we collaborate!

…So when Becca called us to do some family portrait work, we were over the moon excited!!

Becca, thank you for opening up your home, it’s gorgeous! The boys are getting so big, more like young men now. We cannot wait to see where the future takes you, your business and your sweet family. Have a very Merry Christmas + a wonderful New Year.

This summer weather has been beyond beautiful + we’ve been willingly taking advantage of the cooler temperatures and crisp fall-like air to enjoy working outside whenever we can. We couldn’t have asked for a better morning with this group… The kids were fantastic and full of smiles + the location {St. Charles Center} was stunning, as always.

The 2016 fall season did not disappoint! There are a few leaves still changing colors and holding onto the branches before winter begins, but we lucked out yet once again on a wonderful weekend to photograph our fall family special.
It was one of the biggest fall weekends we’ve done yet to date! 10 families braved the cold (+ windy) weather to hang out with us and we couldn’t be more thankful. We had a BLAST!  Sharing a few of our favorite from each of these beautiful families.

It’s been a little while since I’ve shared one of our families, I apologize. The summer months have us in senior social media brain that I forget to share everything we’ve been doing!
Spending the morning with this crew was far from peaceful… it was on the other hand exciting, entertaining and loaded with energy. Corralling that many people, and getting all those little people to smile often has us looking pretty silly, but we’ll do + try anything to capture each person personality.

And this ladies and gentleman is what happens on wedding days when the rain hold off! We had a fantastic day celebrating Maria + Steve. Their day was beautiful, the bride stunning and the girls in a color we haven’t seen in a long time. The groom and his men were super fun and easy to work with. And the groom was a little teary eyed as his bride walked down the aisle. Both families were so sweet to work with! The family property we stopped at for a second location was amazing… I could have photographed there all day! And their first dance was perfection. All in all it was a wedding for the books.

Weitzel Family – Ohio Family Photography

We were able to spend some time with the Weitzel family again this year! We headed back out to the Maria Stein Relic retreat house for their morning photography session. It was a beautiful morning, with a wonderful family. They requested a long-skinny image (we’ve been doing quite a few of these lately for clients) and I just really loved the end image. Their family is growing so quickly…

The Koesters – Ohio Family Photography

We spent our Saturday morning of Country Concert weekend with this wonderful family, Katie & Kyle Koesters! Their two adorable boys took a little while to warm up to us, but in the end we won! Sometimes I would love to see how silly we look getting children to smile. Making silly faces, fart noises (gets the boys every time), throwing stuffed animals in the air, running in to tickle them, and this time we even had the farm puppy with us… whatever it takes to get a smile!
A big thanks to Katie’s family (the Flecks) for letting us photograph at their farm. I think we could photograph in this location all day long. Here is a little sneak-peek into their session, it was so hard to just choose a few!

We had a blast during this session! The Hoelscher family, thank you again for such a great evening. What a wonderful family you are and we were so blessed to be able to catch up and see everyone again.
The session started at the Maria Stein Relic shrine were we captured a few images. After that, we headed to their home.  I think they have worked pretty long hours between construction and landscaping, but their hard work has paid off… What a neat property they have! I only shared a few, but these are just some of my favorites!

The Schloemer Family – Ohio Family Photography

We have another wonderful family to share with all of you. Meet Jim & Linda Schloemer and their family!
When we got the phone call from Jim about setting up a family portrait session, we were both a little excited and apprehensive. Jim and Linda asked if we would come to their home, take portraits of the family and also include two horses. Tessa and I both love horses and think they are beautiful animals… that being said, they are sometimes difficult to photograph. Not only does the size of the animal come into play, but we always try to get their ears to perk up as well. We’re not around them enough to know all the tricks like we know for dogs. Nevertheless, we headed into the session really excited to meet the Schloemer Family!
When we arrived at their home, we met the following: Jim & Linda, their sweet, adorable children (Claire, Luke, Ellen, Elizabeth, & Lauren), both horses (Blue & Elfie), the family dogs (Louie, and the other dog’s name as escaped our mind!), and Luke’s favorite chicken (Missy). What a wonderful exciting time we had getting to know the Schloemer family and all their pets! They had some of the most beautiful landscapes to photograph with, and we could just see the love that exists between this family.
