This is LONG over-due. The girls have been bugging us some, and we’ve been meaning to post these images for weeks now. Since we’re in our busy season, our ‘fun’ work gets pushed to the side while we work on our client work. That being said, I had a little free time this afternoon and made it a point to finalize some of our favorite images from the Mansfield trip that we took a few months ago with some of our senior models.
What fun we had! It’s about a three hour drive to the Ohio State Reformatory in Mansfield, so we get to spend some quality time with a few of our models. Senior models Mandy, Jenna, Jenna & Olivia are the girls pictured in the images below. This years group was (a little quite, but) a blast to work with! They brought along fantastic urban, grunge and even a boho outfit or two… exactly the style of clothing we were hoping for.
It’s always a bit of an interesting process once we get there. We figure out hair and make-up from the parking lot. Always intriguing without a curling or flat iron! And then we’re basically able to walk the grounds of the building till we locate spots we’d like to photograph in. To some it could be a little random or unpredictable, but we manage just fine with what we’re given. And we end up with some really cool, beautiful images.
Let me say it again… IT’S SO MUCH FUN!
A big shout-out and thank you to the girls. They have a long day between the drive, waiting while we’re photographing, and being models in a humid, no air-conditioned building. We’re always thankful for the AC on the way home!
The old prison is just a neat piece of history that we have close to us. I encourage all of you to take a drive over and see it. And for you movie lovers, it’s where The Shawshank Redemption was filmed! Enjoy our view from Mansfield!
